GENERAL SANTOS CITY ( 20 June 2015 ) – Backyard gardening, livelihood programs, food assistance program and nutrition education for parents emerged as the strategic and high impact programs and projects Rural Health Units (RHU’s) identified and intended to do for the next three years to address malnutrition.

The strategic planning of RHUs held at Tierra Montana Hotel on June 11 was joined by the City Economic management & cooperative Development Office (CEMCDO), Department of Social Welfare and development (DSWD) and City Population Management Office (CPMO).
“By, RHU ang planning para may guide na sila ano ang plans nila para ma improve ang nutritional status ng mga constituents sa barangay, pero naka-fucos sila sa families na may underweight children,” stated Nanette Cabidos, City Dietician and Nutrition Coordinator.
The Operation Timbang (OPT) of each RHU is aimed at monitoring children’s weight 71 months old and below.

RHUs would coordinate with the inter-agencies and NGOs for the implementation of these projects and program in the barangays.
“Based sa OPT, meron na silang fucos kung sino ang mabibigyan ng livelihood. Like CEMCDO, pwede silang magbigay ng livelihood sa mga families. Sa RHU sila mag coordinate, through it Nutrition Committee in the Barangay, consisting of different agencies na responsible for the nutrition program,” Cabidog added.

“Meron din tayong mga NGOs na pina attend ngayon like the International Care Ministries (ICM), mahintana Foundation, RD Foundation. Meron kasing mga NGOs na naga implement sa barangay ng kanilang mga programs. They have to coordinate with the RHUs. Para hindi sila mag diretso sa area without consulting the RHU concerned. Para maturuan din sila,” Cabidog said.
Around 56 other Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS), 26 Barangay Health worker (BHW) presidents, City Nutrition Council (CNC) members, kagawad on health in the 26 barangays, midwives, doctors, nurses, and heads of RHUs were present in the strategic planning.

On its part, the local government shouldred the honorarium of the BNS, other incentives, and provided the supplies and materials for the city’s nutrition program, like the OPT.
The planning was a result of 2014 OPT outcome wherein malnutrition was found to be prevalent in barangay Baluan of this city.

General Santos city ranked number 6 in the malnutrition magnitude for 0 to 71 months old children and number 4 for 0 to 23 months old children. Blog Opinion – Second Part

Decommissioning Process of MILF Commitment to Peace

COBATO CITY – June 16, 2015 – In the opening statement of President Aquino government at the turn-over of the 75 firearms during the decommissioning process of 145 combatants, he assailed lawmakers who are blocking the passage of the proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL), saying “They are depriving the Bangsamoro people of the chance to uplift themselves and live peaceful and dignified life”.
“That is the equivalent of opposing the BBL,” Aquino added. Where is the conscience of these lawmakers???
President Aquino posed this question at the historic turn-over of 75 weapons and decommissioning of 145 combatants of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF). The President made an urgent appeal to Congress not to further derail the approval of measure for the sake of peace, security and development in Mindanao.

Nation has it big responsibility and obligation to its people if you have the pure purpose and sincerity in attaining peaceful co-existence living side-by-side through peace, security and development. Minority people of this country has it long cry in attaining for self-determination, but has denied by the National government for 43 years today, resolving Mindanao internal conflict and Mindanao question???

“You cannot say that that you are for peace, even as you make the passage of the BBL difficult. It is as if you are still not content with making the law pass through the eyes of nine needles, that you will add tenth and an eleventh: it is as if you have no space for peace,” Aquino said in Filipino.
“Perhaps I can ask for your help: What can I answer to those who only seem to draw out the process for us to realize peace??? Aquino added.
PH gearing up for an economic miracle in Southeast Asia which so importance to sustain economic growth is stability of peace and security through-out the country. Investors will only invest and pouring their capitals when they can assure nation’s stability and they are secured in their site and residence destination. Actually, we are number two fastest growing economic next to China in Global business and investment hub.

The dormant and untapped natural resources of Mindanao particular the Bangsamoro provinces estimated US$ Trillions in Liguasan Mars and Sulu seas would fully spurs economic potential and growth of the nation. The hindrance of it and the negative aspects is peace and order that can never resolve by the national government.

Potentials of over-all growth of PH economy would depend on how GRP and MILF leadership honors their commitment towards the signed peace pack documents. If we failed would means will return to hostilities and war this should not happen with the gains of the recovery now in our present economic status so far. Exceptional performances in our robust growth must be sustained in good handling of government financial resources maximize in its potential unleashing to utilize for economic expansion to all the regions of the Philippines.

Government spending reports unmet in its requirement for the allocation of budget expending for the first quarter of 2015, that why PH experienced of an inflation as we entered the second quarter of this year, but according financial expert it’s going to manageable without much worry to present financial status.

Social media post FB source- PH, we have Gold deposits of US$ Trillions market value in an estimates from the foreign expert.

Decommissioning Process of MILF Commitment to Peace

Blog Opinion – First Part

Decommissioning Process of MILF Commitment to Peace

COTABATO CITY – June 15, 2015, GRP - OPAPP Press briefing at EM Manor Hotel, we asked for transparency in the conduct of decommissioning process on June 16 big event between the GRP – MILF peace pack agreement under CAB and other supplemental documents signed by both Third-party facilitators the Malaysian government, International Monitoring Team (IMT) and with the involvement and support of International Community. Expecting peace process will be honored by the contracting parties. Allays fear if the BBL will bog down, they will be another war in Mindanao, but in somehow, the leadership of MILF Central Committee remained committed to peace, even the BBL is delayed on the time frame signed unmet the dead-line in the CAB Contract.

Decommissioning process is one document Contract of Peace to ascertain the trust of confidence building leading to a sustainable and permanent peace resolution in Mindanao. Common question bungling the mind of the public, Are both parties really to commit for peace??? Or are just playing around to condition the mind of the public??? Awaiting the outcome and the result of the Decommissioning process at the Old Capitol Building, Simuay Cotabato City on June 16, of positive mood rather than negative introspective.

Media wants full coverage to have access to all stakeholders if granted without restrictions for an interview to BIAF Combatants.

Transparency and accountability would mean full disclosure of Decommissioning process. This part of disarmament between the GPH – MILF in the CAB documents ending the long history of Mindanao conflicts and Mindanao question.

Peace process is in between sincerity and insincerity commitment still in the hands of leaders and all stakeholders involved in the peace negotiation. Success and failure it depend also on how to honor and fulfill their commitment to peace process.
MILF has just followed the agreement and the peace process that how the Decommissioning process is enforcing today Chairman Murad Ebrahim said. This is a part of an obligation on the part of MILF Chair Hj. Murad Ebrahim added.

President Benigno C. Aquino III has consistent promised to Bangsamoro people, he never detract to critics on BBL, pursue what is the best for the National interest; he is truly a man of peace. Base on his speech on the turn-over of 75 of mixed high power fire arms from MILF –BIAF Combatants and 145 Armed personnel returned to the fold of law took an allegiance to the CONSTITUTION OF THE REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES in the first phasing of the Decommissioning Process. Murad described with his owned term “TRANSFORMATION PROCESS ROAD TO PERMANENT PEACE, SECURITY AND DEVELOPMENT FOR MINDANAO”.

Likewise, GRP Panel, they stick on the peace agreement resilient followed what is written in the documents signed by both parties. As ascribed by Prof. Miriam Coronel-Ferrer, Chairperson, GRP Panel and Sec. Teresita “Ging” Deles, OPAPP. What is next???

WHAT’S A SENATOR OR A CONGRESSMAN/WOMAN OR AN SP MEMBER EXPECTED TO DO? IN HIS POSITION?

BLOG Politics

By: Professor Rose A. Barrera

WHAT’S A SENATOR OR A CONGRESSMAN/WOMAN OR AN SP MEMBER EXPECTED TO DO?
                                                                          IN HIS POSITION?

How many people have we voted to be in congress here in South Cotabato for three consecutive terms each (9years) with a yearly budget of (P 70,000,000) seventy million pesos?
And yet we have not heard how bills they have made that became laws? (ADWA- 9years), (LRA- 9 years, DAMAC 9 years), each of them get a yearly budget of seventy million pesos which totaled P630, 000,000 or more than half of a billion pesos 4 27 consecutive years?
          For the 3 (9 consecutive years each in congress), P630 million X 3= one billion, 890 million (p 1,890,000,000.00)
How many bills did they make that became laws for their constituents?
And now, PBA, Jr. his last 3 years term of his second year in congress, since (2010-2015) how many bills has he passed in congress and been approved?
Don’t we think we have wasted the more than one billion, 890 million pesos the government spent for lawmaker that did not do their task for which they were voted for?
Do we voters understand what the task or obligation of a senator or a congressman is?
If we are knowledge enough to understand the task and the duties of every lawmaker, why don’t we choose candidates who are lawyers who really know how to make bills and who can defend then and have them made into laws?
We have a lot of elected candidates who donate all kinds of gadgets like computer, appliance, basketball courts, waiting sheds except bills to become laws for their constituents!
In the local government units (province, cities) how many ordinances have our SangguninangPanlalawigan and sangguniangpanglunsod members have really passed ordinances that were discussed and approved after the third reading?
Many times our senators and members of the lower house have become decorations in their sessions, some are absentees, others if present, don’t actively take part in the discussions before a bill becomes a law, They take pride being members of theaugust bodies of the congress and the senate !
But when laws are there, they seldom are enacted, Just to be there for those supportive of the said laws. Like the OIL DEREGULATION LAWS, that gives special privilege to oil magnates to have their prices soar high! To the detriment of the poor public because the government becomes “inutil”, helpless to curb or to object to the raise of prices!
Take the EPIRA LAW (energy Power Industry Reformed Act) Before this was promulgated supposedly to lower power rates.
However, much to the dismay of consumers, the power rates were even higher than expected!
So, many felt cheated by the government, thru the law makers, /energy crises have escalated and people feel even more restless!
There had been anti-dynasty law before, but it was never enacted. Now, another bill (anti-dynasty) is proposed in congress.
           For what? For whom?
Will such bill become a law? If it will be a law, will it be followed by the majority of man in congress and the senate who comprise the biggest number of elected officials?
It is the political dynasty in our country who have dominated our society since before!
Unless we voters and the rest of the (100,000,000) one hundred million Filipinos are determined to put a stop to the evils corrupt leaders of our country have done and are doing, we will never move to words a new Philippines!
Political analysts, religious leaders, especially Pope Francies (Jorge Bergoglio) of Rome have observed closely that the main Couse of the poverty of the Filipinos is graft and corruption in the government.
The “government of the people, by the people and for the people” have already become the government OFF the people, BUY the people and POOR the people!
ANONG SAY NYO?

CONTROVERSIAL
TKO DECISION IN GENSAN FURY 1

GENERAL SANTOS CITY- Lively boxing match of WBA Oceana Bantamweight Championship of the sensational protagonist local fighters between Daryl “Flash” Basadre of Sanman Stable-Gensan and the challenger Kenny Demecillo of Omega Stable-Cebu in the main event dubbed as (Gensan Fury 1) in their 10 rounds 118 lbs. of boxing on June 7, 2015 at Robinsons Place Gensan.

The TKO second round decision by the referee brought boxing fans in uproar in the controversial TKO decision made by the 3rd. man in the ring. What many boxing observers said, “is very inconvincible to boxing aficionados, this should not be repeated boxing fans whispered to me after the fight. According to a boxing expert who witnessed the fight in the ring side Basadre should count by 8 in the middle of the ring even he is knock out (KO) by Demecillo, “that’s boxing rules”, boxing expert said.

Most appropriated while Basadre is groggy hit by solid straight right hand punch in the in chin in second round by hard puncher Demecillo, It should be stopped in the corner of the ring not in the middle of the ring. Maybe because of referee blunder to save Basadre from further harmed from the hard hitting Demecillo, he decided to stop the fight in the middle of the ring, which is violating boxing rules.

Boxing rules for the standing count of an unanswered 10 hard punches should be automatically stopped by referee if the boxer is groggy or hurting from foe.

While controversy occurs in the “Gensan Fury 1” fight match, Basadre camp asking for rematch in proper time soon. Sanman promoter will go to re-schedule the second “Gensan Fury 2” here in Gensan, Robinsons Place.  Two local boxing promoter Mr. Jess Manangquil, Jr and co-promoter Mr. Dexter “Wang Yu” Tan. said.

It’s also happened to ask personally WBA Supervisor Mr. Ferlin Marsh as he represented the prestigious boxing organization, he said, if the boxers willing to rematch why not??? “They should be given a chance to rematch once and for all to clear the doubt of the controversial decision by the referee in-charge of the fight”. Marsh said.

Local boxers are going to excel if only have a proper training and full support from the local boxing promoters and boxing aficionados. While watching the whole fights in the ring side, our boxers would be potential for world caliber.

Mentioned exceptional performance in “Gensan Fury 1” between Rinmar Metuda of Sanman Stable-Gensan Vs Jerry Castroverde of Omega Stable-Cebu three judges scores majority decision in favor for Metuda won by unanimous decision.

The rest boxers need more training and exercises and learned the skills, arts and the science of boxing to excel…by: ADLSNTV and adlsntv.blogspot.com
