02 April 2015 Valid Beginning: 5:00 a.m. today until 5:00 a.m. tomorrow
Synopsis: At 4:00 a.m. today, the eye of the Typhoon CHEDENG was located based
on all available data at 980 km east of Borongan, Eastern Samar (12. 1N,
134.4E), with maximum sustained winds of 180 kph near the center and gustiness
of up to 215 kph. It is forecast to move west northwest at 19 kph.
The whole archipelago will
experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or
thunderstorms. Moderate to strong winds coming from the northeast to north will
prevail over the eastern section of Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao and
the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.
Typhoon CHEDENG Alert issued at
11am 2 April 15: Typhoon Chedeng has slightly weakened as it continues to move
in a west northwest direction. Estimated rainfall amount is from moderate to
heavy within the 150-200km radius of the typhoon. Within the next hrs, PAGASA
will raise Public Storm Signal no. 1 over Bicol and Northern Samar. Hence, sea
travel over these areas will be possibly suspended.
It is estimated to make landfall
to make over eastern coast of Aurora or Isabela by late Saturday to early
Sunday. The public is alerted against possible flashfloods over low-lying areas
and landslides along mountain slopes particularly over Aurora-Isabela area.
Strom surges and sea surface waves of up to 4 meters are possible over the
eastern coast of Samar, Bicol and Aurora-Quezon.

2April2015: Typhoon Chedeng was located at 960km East of Catarman Northern
Samar or 1005km East southeast of Virac
Radar Catanduanes (12.6N 133.5E).
