Birth certificates distributed in Bawing
GENERAL SANTOS CITY – The Local Civil Registrar (LCR) of the
local government unit of General Santos City (LGU-GSC) delivered 130 birth
certificates to unlisted individuals of Brgy Bawing during Barangayan, March 06,
2015.
Fatima Flongkay, 35, was very elated that all of her three
children got their birth certificates already.
“As a mother, I am very happy that they got their birth
certificates,” she said.
Months before the Barangayan was held in Bawing, the LCR already
screened and processed the documents of the applicants in the said area.
The LCR had received a directive from Mayor Ronnel Rivera to
prioritize children who don’t have their birth certificates.
Ms. Fe Dimajiva, a LCR staff, said that it is their primary
mandate to give service to the constituents of the city, especially those that
are in the marginalized and vulnerable sector.
“This is how we do our service. We are helping the
underprivileged in getting birth certificates. I enjoy doing this work,”
Dimajiva said.
Isabelita Tablizo, head of LCR, affirmed that their office
will continue to render the necessary social services for the constituents of
the city. (Sharmagne Villacastin/Gensan CPIO)
