Indeed, as we celebrate the last 41 years of the existence
of the Province, let us take stock of what we have accomplished working
together, and what we aim to accomplish moving forward, together, as one.
In this year’s commemoration, we have deemed it necessary to
remember the contributions that each one of us shared to bring Basilan to where
it is now.
With the theme: “Ginisan Bangsa Magtaayun si Dambuwa Maksud”
Diverse Tribes in Harmony, Moving Forward with One Goal, we want everyone to
focus our sights to all those positive things that we shared as one people.
Indeed, even as we celebrate the diversity of our many cultures – Yakan,
Tausug, Sama, Badjao, Chavacano, Bisaya, Ilonggo, Ilokano, Tagalog, Maranao,
Maguindanao, Iranun, Chinese and many, many more – we should all continue to
remember that we are one. WE ARE ALL BASILEÑOS.
ALL OF US, WE ARE ALL BASILAN.
