PUBLIC
GENERAL SANTOS CITY (17 FEBRUARY
2015) – San Miguel Properties, signed MOA with the local government of General
Santos as partner in the community settlement and relocation project for Purok
Upper Banualan, barangay Tambler, General Santos City yesterday at the City
Mayor’s office conference room.
City
Mayor Ronnel Rivera led the signing of the MOA with SMP head of the Legal and
Asset Management Services, Atty. Karen M. Cas-Caballa, together with barangay
captain of Tambler Abdulwahid Bualan.
The
signing of the MOA is a promise of new beginning for the families of the said
community. “A place they can call their own. A place they can call their home
sweet home”, said Atty. Cas-Caballa.
The
said relocation program started two years ago when the San Miguel Properties
purchased the 7-hectare property at barangay Tambler. The said site is complete
with water and power supply for the 370 family beneficiaries.
“The
community organizing and actual transfer will be undertaken by the local
government as the local government’s counterpart. This is an all-expense paid
resettlement. The individual titles will be awarded to the beneficiaries, which
is the very brief of this project”, said Ms. Mary Ann Bacar, CGDHII-CHLMO.
Mayor
Rivera on its final note thanked the San Miguel Corporation for its noble
undertaking of addressing such issue of Gensan. He hoped that this will not be
the last time they will extend their assistance to the city. (Sharmagne
